Atenolol therapy has occasionally been associated with fatigue, dizziness, drowsiness, mild headache, sweating, and cold extremities. Rare adverse experiences include gastrointestinal symptoms, induction of obstructive ventilation disturbances, rash, sleep disturbances, exacerbation of pre-existing heart failure, bradycardia, AV conduction disturbances, and unwanted blood pressure reduction. Exacerbation of peripheral occlusive disease, reduced lacrimation, conjunctivitis, hypoglycemia in diabetic patients, muscle cramps/weakness, and impotence have also been reported.
